Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating!
around the world will start celebrating Eid al-Adha and it’s the celebration of one central figure in Islam, Judaism, and Christianity: the prophet Abraham.
It commemorates Abraham and Ismail’s willingness to obey God’s demand of sacrifice. Abraham had a vision of him sacrificing his son as he believed it to be a divine order from God. When he told his son Ismail of the vision, Ismail believed Abraham should fulfill his vision. When both submitted their will to God and were ready to engage in their sacrifice, God sent a ram to sacrifice instead.
There are five pillars of Islam that are mandatory for Muslims: Salat , Zakat , Shahada , Sawm , and, only if the individual can afford it, Hajj .
