The San Francisco 49ers made a series of moves ahead of their Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. That included waiving Kaden Smith and bringing Jeff Wilson up from the practice squad.

The 49ers’ decision to waive Smith over veteran free-agent signing Levine Toilolo is also rather surprising. It’s a clear indication that they don’t believe the Stanford product is ready to make an impact. Wilson will likely be the No. 3 running back and active on Sunday. Matt Breida will get the start with Raheem Mostert backing him up. The two combined for just 77 yards on 25 touches last week. If they are not able to get it done early, it would not be a surprise to see Wilson given a chance.Rookie No. 2 pick Nick Bosa missed multiple practices this week after suffering a setback in his return from an off-season ankle injury.
