The unnamed source asserts that Scott is “already looking at engagement rings” and the couple is “telling friends to be ready for a big announcement early next year.” Of course, in true tabloid fashion, making up a story about a wedding isn’t enough – there always has to be some bogus bit about having kids. This story includes that too. The dubious source adds, “It’s no secret Jonathan’s been aching to be a dad” and Deschanel “would love” to have another child.
The whole story is made up. For starters, Deschanel is not officially divorced from her estranged husband, Jacob Pechenik. Deschanel and Pechenik split in September and filed for divorce in October. Scott and Deschanel met in August and started dating around the time of the breakup. The actress and her ex have two kids together, and it’s reasonable to expect their divorce, even if amicable, will take some time.
