In a sweet video, JusticeLeague director Zack Snyder congratulates Henry Cavill on returning to the DCU as Superman.
Following Henry Cavill's cameo appearance as Superman in Black Adam, Zack Snyder congratulates the Man of Steel star on returning to the DCU. In 2023, the DCU will officially be a decade old as the franchise began all the way back in 2013 with Man of Steel. Directed by Snyder and starring Cavill as Superman, Man of Steel served as the first crucial chapter in Warner Bros.' proper attempt to launch a superhero cinematic universe, similar to the MCU.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Cavill and Snyder would then go on to collaborate on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, with the latter getting its original cut released on HBO Max in 2021. However, as the DCU went on after Joss Whedon's controversial Justice League cut in 2017, the interconnected universe had been going through the motions as the studio tried to figure out how to continue its superhero franchise.
It's worth remembering, however, that even if Snyder and DC Studios are game to collaborate again, the director does have a number of projects he is occupied with for at least another year or two. As of right now, Snyder is currently working on Rebel Moon for Netflix, with Rebel Moon Part 2 already greenlit for the streaming service. Snyder also has his Army of the Dead sequel, Planet of the Dead, for Netflix that is coming up, meaning a return to the DCU wouldn't happen for a few years.
