‘s weigh-in process by measuring in at 6-foot-7 and 255 pounds with 34-inch arms and 10.25-inch hands. Kuntz then stunned scouts by running a 4.55 in the 40. Kuntz had a 40-inch vertical and a 10-foot-8 broad jump.
JM: It makes you one of the most athletic tight ends to ever perform at the combine. Have you noticed an uptick in attention you’re receiving since then? Zack Kuntz: Sure, there was a moment. My initial period in college, I was someone that benefited greatly from a red-shirt year. I had to work through some of those developmental things early on in my career. Taking that time allowed me to be in the position that I’m in now.
It was a tough decision. I ultimately felt it was in my best interest to transfer. It panned out well for me.Zack Kuntz: I’m fairly indifferent. I love running what we called a choice route in our offense. It gives me a different opportunity to use my tools to attack leverage. I can do some different things. It gives me the power to run the route how I see fit. You’ll see a lot of that on my film. We loved to run that corner route.
I became a much better blocker within our scheme. I think it’s a strong point of my game. I’m a well-balanced tight end most teams are looking for. Tight ends always want to possess that diverse skill set.
