Zach Harrison was a big winner during NFLCombine measurements. NFLDraft
in at 6-foot-5, 274 pounds with 10-inch hands, 36.25-inch arms, and an 85.5-inch wingspan. NFL teams covet length at the position and Harrison is in the 99th percentile for both arm length and wingspan. Harrison may have attached a jetpack to his pre-draft stock as a result.
Harrison will perform on-field drills on Thursday. He’s a candidate to continue winning the NFL Scouting Combine process via the testing results. Word is Harrison will run an excellent time for his size in the ever-popular 40-yard dash at Ohio State’s pro day. Combing through Harrison’s tape reveals a prospect with a terrific blend of size, length, and first-step explosiveness. Harrison’s measurements weren’t a surprise to those who watched him utilize his length to create extension between himself and would-be blockers on film. Harrison’s length eventually creates advantageous angles for him to work through.update, I believe Harrison’s overall showing in Indianapolis will work him into the top-64 conversation.
There’s no point ignoring the elephant in the room. Harrison’s yearly statistical outputs represent modest production. Harrison will have to answer questions at the NFL Combine regarding why his physical tools never led to double-digit sack production. Harrison rarely shared the field with high-NFL-level pass rushers at Ohio State, and evaluators would have liked to see a more sizable step taken in 2022, although there’s no denying he played his best football this past season.
