Knowing that it had a fairly vast roster turnover off a 2021 team that achieved the programs’ first playoff win in program history, the Cavaliers were tasked with a nondistrict slate that so far has produced a pair of teams that have hung around the Greater Houston Class 6A media rankings so far this season.
“The two nondistrict games were really tough opponents,” Madison said. “It was a really good Cinco Ranch team that we’ve played two years in-a-row now. Then a very good Klein Cain team.” On Thursday night, College Park held a run-heavy Caney Creek attack which had previously been averaging 211.4 yards per game to just 55 yards.
The schedule will pick up in the coming weeks as the combined record of the teams College Park defeated in the past three games are 5-12.
