The latest legislation will make it illegal to create, adapt, supply or offer to supply "false evidence of Covid status to another person."In the new regulations, councils could also have the power to shut down businesses that do not comply with the rules.
Venues or businesses that do not carry out checks could be fined £1,000 - this could be reduced to £500 if paid within the first two days of notice.
