Famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma will perform again with the Mobile Symphony Orchestra as part of its newly announced 2023-24 season.
Nov. 18 and 19: A casual “Beethoven and Blue Jeans,” concert featuring young flutist Anthony Trionfo and Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony. Jan. 20 and 21: The MSO presents Stravinsky’s magical “Firebird Suite,” Duke Ellington’s jazz-infused “River Suite” and pianist Maxim Lando performing Tchaikovsky’s “Piano Concerto No. 1.”April 6 and 7: The University of South Alabama Concert Choir joins the orchestra for Mozart’s “Requiem.”
Most concerts are performed twice in the Mobile Saenger Theatre: Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. The Yo-Yo Ma appearance is an exception, a one-time-only show at 7:30 p.m. on a Thursday. Single-show tickets for that event are on sale now to members and will be available to nonmembers Sept. 5. Prices range from $65 to $249.
