The appointment of Xia Baolong extends a shake-up in the Communist Party apparatus overseeing governance of protest-racked Hong Kong
Xia Baolong, vice chairman of a national political-advisory body and a former provincial leader, was appointed director of the Chinese government’s Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office, according to a brief report published Thursday by China’s state-run Xinhua News Agency.
