Warning: Contains SPOILERS for X-Men Red #13Ever since the debut of Arakko, Marvel Comics’ X-Men have met more than a few highly powered and highly dangerous new mutants. One of those most dangerous new mutants is none other than Genesis, the better half of Apocalypse himself, foremost defender of Okkara and former host of Annihilation.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT X-Men Red #13 by Al Ewing, Jacopo Camagni, and Federico Blee finds Genesis returning to her Arakkii brethren, disgusted by the newfound peace in which they’ve been seemingly languishing. Challenging the one and only Storm as well as other “weak” members of the Great Ring, Genesis is furious when Lactuca the Knower teleports her targets out of her reach.
Having led the Arakkii against the forces of Amenth for millennia, Genesis is so strong that she considers her lover, Apocalypse – formerly one of the greatest threats to the Marvel Universe – to be a weakness. But even to Genesis, an opponent such as Lactuca would undoubtedly be terrifying to face.
This X-Men Ally Sees Everything Coming Lactuca may not be the first character that springs to fans’ minds when discussing Omega-level X-Men, but clearly even an Annihilation-powered Genesis knows they aren’t to be crossed. With a near omniscience that renders any attack all but impossible, there’s not much to be done against the Knower. And if even the X-Men’s most unbeatable villain fears the seer, Marvel Comics' Storm and the others should be grateful that Lactuca didn’t turn against them.
