A Honda going the wrong way on Interstate 80 slammed into a Tesla Model 3, leaving both vehicles in flames.
A wrong-way driver on Interstate 80 caused a fiery crash that left two people dead early Sunday morning near the Carquinez Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 3:40 a.m. when a Honda SUV going west in the freeway’s eastbound lanes slammed head-on into a Tesla Model 3 just west of Pomona Street, the highway patrol said. A Toyota Camry then collided with the other two vehicles, which became engulfed in flames. The drivers of the Honda and the Tesla were killed, and the driver of the Camry suffered minor injuries.
The crash left the interstate closed for several hours early Sunday morning, though all lanes have since reopened.Related Articles
