What a match at Al Janoub Stadium. In a wild, back-and-forth affair, Serbia and Cameroon drew 3-3, keeping faint Round of 16 hopes alive for both teams.
While Serbia controlled the early play, it was Cameroon that found a breakthrough in the 29th minute when Jean-Charles Castelletto tapped in a flicked on corner. Manager Rigobert Song’s side looked to head into half time with a lead but conceded two stoppage time tallies in rapid succession. First, Strahinja Pavlovic headed Serbian captain Dusan Tadic’s free kick into the Cameroonian net. Then Sergej Milinkovic-Savic beat Devis Epassy with a left-footed effort from distance. The goalkeeper, a last-minute replacement after first-choice Andre Onana was sent home reportedly due to differences with Song, should have done better.
