Although Harrelson is more than happy to do the DNA test, he understands his “True Detective” co-star’s hesitancy.
“For him, it’s a much more big deal. I mean, he feels like he’s losing a father,” he explained. “But I’m like, no, you’re gaining a different father and a brother.”“It’s a little easier for Wood to say, ‘Come on, let’s do it,’ because what’s the skin in it for him?” the father of three jokingly pointed out.
“It’s a little harder for me because he’s asking me to take the chance to go, ‘Wait a minute, you’re telling me my dad may not be my dad of 53 years’ and believe in it?” he continued. “I got a little more skin in the game.”McConaughey and Harrelson starred together in “EDtv” in 1999 and in Season 1 of “True Detective” in 2014.“Brother From Another Mother,” where they play fictionalized versions of themselves bringing their families together on a Texas ranch.
