The $5 million Woodchase Park is scheduled to open before the end of the year. It will include a 7,500-square foot activity lawn, a multi-purpose pavilion, a dog park, a community garden and food truck slots. It will host activities year-round, such as arts and crafts, book clubs, gardening workshops and movie nights.have been reopened after the grass was replaced with new synthetic turf, officials said in a news release.
The stations were closed for three weeks so crews could completely remove all the grass around the equipment, officials said.In a Jan. 11 Facebook post, crews were photographed as they prepared to lay down the new turf. Officials said the grass had to be replaced because Houston’s annual 50 inches rainfall would not be able to grow natural grass in that area.
