Andrew Dougherty, a programmer and software engineer from San Diego, gleamed in the all-white costume of the Moon Knight, a Marvel character that debuted in the ’70s but surged to a new popularity with the Disney+ series that arrived last year. “I kind of love the obscure characters that no one else is going to dress up as,” Mar said of his choice. “Because I’m not very good at cosplay, I’m not very attractive and I don’t know how to sew, but I like dressing up.”Andrew Hall’s modest booth was dwarfed by the anime booth across the aisle but the screen-printed posters he featured were for a much better purpose than the racy anime art of his neighbor.
