Detectives and a SWAT team served an arrest warrant Thursday night.
WALNUT CREEK — A woman who is suspected of making escalated threats toward a Christian high school was arrested Thursday night, police said.
Police were contacted about the threats Tuesday, then were notified of even more dangerous threats Wednesday, Walnut Creek police Lt. Holley Connors said in a statement. The threats were serious enough that Contra Costa Christian Schools sent students enrolled in after-school classes home early on Wednesday and did not have classes Thursday.
The 33-year-old Antioch resident was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility and held on $25,000 bail. She was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats, Connors said. Jail records were inaccessible Friday, and it was not clear if she remained in custody. According to Connors, the school received “numerous” emails and voicemails on Tuesday that spoke of vague threats and violence toward the school. Connors said the school received more emails with even-more-threatening language, one of them with a picture of a rifle attached.
