A woman visiting the grave of relatives at Bootle Cemetery has spoken of her anger after finding a pensioner in tears over the state of the cemetery.
She said: “A gentleman picked her up off the ground and had to take her home she was that distraught.”Colin Chadd also contacted the ECHO to speak of his anger after visiting the cemetery upon returning on holiday to find dead grass having being “kicked” onto graves and vases cut with hedge trimmers.
A Sefton Council spokesperson said the local authority “sympathise” with people left upset or “despondent” by the state of the graveyard.
