A 56-year-old Oakland resident died Sunday in a vehicle collision in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.
Shortly before noon, police received reports of a possible collision in the 8400 block of B Street in the city’s Woodland neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a woman in a vehicle. Despite first responders’ life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was not available pending next-of-kin notification from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s bureau. Police provided few details, but did say they were working to establish what led up to the collision. Other people involved in the incident were not hurt, and remained at the scene, authorities said.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of an associated driver. Anyone with information may call police traffic investigators at 510-777-8570 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
