A 22-year-old woman had been walking on the sidewalk and she was “also struck by falling debris” and suffered “a laceration to the head,” police said.
A 22-year-old woman was critically injured Wednesday night in Wicker Park when falling debris fell from above, striking her in the head and hitting a nearby vehicle, according to Chicago police.
Emergency responders were called to the 1200 block of North Milwaukee Avenue around 6 p.m. after getting reports that “falling debris from a nearby commercial building struck vehicle,” according to an online media notification from Chicago police. The vehicle had been traveling north on Milwaukee Avenue when the debris began to fall.

The driver was not injured.
