Witherspoon was the Seahawks' No. 5 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
If Witherspoon can’t play, the Seahawks are likely to start one of either Burns or Bryant at nickel. Burns has mostly been an outside cornerback in Seattle’s system but moved to nickel ahead of the preseason finale. Seattle figured it might be able to use him inside if Witherspoon wasn’t quite ready to play Week 1. Burns signed to the practice squad after the preseason and was called up to the game-day roster Saturday afternoon.
Burns has four interceptions through 72 career NFL games. He played three games last season with the Seahawks.Kickoff of the Seahawks and Rams game is at 4:25 p.m. ET. Seattle finished 9-8 in 2022,
