County commissioners introduced their annual budget at $99.5 million, with a tax reduction of 2 cents per $100 of tax base.
Board of Commissioners on Wednesday introduced a $99.5 million budget for 2022 that cuts taxes by 2 cents per $100 of tax base.
The county in 2021 faced its first tax levy increase since 2015, with appropriations totaling $91.7 million. During 2021, the estimated equalized value of assessments comprising the tax base increased by nearly $776 million to $12.1 billion, making for a 2021 equalized tax rate of 62.92 cents per $100 of tax base. The 2021 rate had been estimated at 63.13 cents per $100 of property valuation, an increase of 0.26 of a cent above the 2020 rate.
“Warren County government has once again shown that it is committed to the taxpayers,” stated Commissioner James Kern III. “I’d like to thank everyone for all the hard work and the efforts, and extending to us the opportunity to establish our Cyber Unit,” Prosecutor James Pfeiffer said in the release.
