Forecasters say winds will gust up to 23 mph, giving some balls a pair of wings.

Are you ready for a home run derby? We might see one on Monday night when the San Francisco Giants host the San Diego Padres at Oracle Park, starting at 6:45 p.m.

The wind storm that’s expected to make landfall Monday night in San Diego is already raging in San Francisco. Winds gusted to 58 mph Monday afternoon at the city’s airport, and there’s plenty of energy left. MLB.com says, “Strong, gusty winds blowing out to right field may result in several home runs in the game.”

Forecasters say the winds will gust from 20 mph to 23 mph during much of the game. And it’s going to be cold. The temperature will drop into the upper 40s.
