In the first 20 seconds alone, the much-anticipated sequel greets the viewer with chilling horror-movie music, a tidal wave threatening to subsume Elsa, and the overall bleak color palette of aepisode. Reminder: This is a movie primarily for children.

The fun, er, terror continues with the sudden appearance of a ghost horse with glowing eyes, Anna and the formerly jolly snowman Olaf plummeting treacherously into a steep waterfall, and a rapidly spreading forest fire raging all around Kristof. I’m officially confused. Where are the musical numbers? Based on this trailer, the new “Let It Go” will be a guttural scream into the ether or the sound of panting as Elsa runs for her life.
