I’ll never forget my sister Nicole was like, Brad, people are gonna think she’s gonna kill herself. But once we put that [music] cue in there, it’s quite a hopeful piano. And we stayed on Mare longer as she was walking up—we wanted it to feel like an ascension.
That was a big surprise. I don’t think we understood how into the whodunit everyone was going to be. It was really written as a character drama. Because of the TV drought, we were able to build momentum [week to week]. But it was also quite unnerving.
