Photo: Carlos Alvarez/Getty Images This weekend, the Metropolitan Opera in New York reportedly held a bizarre meeting on the subject of Plácido Domingo, the opera superstar accused of sexual misconduct by 20 women. According to NPR, the opera’s general manager told concerned employees that Domingo has not been suspended because the women’s accounts — the subject of an extensive investigation by the Associated Press, which interviewed nearly three dozen people — have not been corroborated.
During the meeting, Gelb allegedly offered several explanations and seemed to cast doubt on both the AP’s reporting and the experiences of Domingo’s 20 accusers.
