After the Philadelphia Eagles’ season ended just short of their ultimate goal of another championship, one could argue that they’ve had the strongest offseason of any team. They re-signed several key pending free agents, brought in some other excellent players in free agency, and dominated the draft with seven excellent picks.
For one reason or another, though—and perhaps because of the lack of clarity behind his diminished playing time at Alabama—Ricks fell out of the draft. Fortunately, he didn’t have to wait too long to find a new home in the NFL as the Eagles scooped him up just after the draft ended. Ricks will get the chance to crack a Philadelphia roster that’s already quite deep at the cornerback position. James Bradberry and Darius Slay returned in free agency, while Greedy Williams andDon’t count Ricks out, though. He still has an intriguing set of skills that flashed throughout his time in college and even in his limited chances at Alabama.
