Andor creator Tony Gilroy explains why he was worried about Stellan Skarsgård's new Star Wars character and balancing his dual nature: 'That man is really tricky.'
Andor writer and creator, Tony Gilroy, recently shared why he was worried about Stellan Skarsgård's new Star Wars character. Set five years before the events of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, the latest entry into the long-running science-fiction fantasy franchise follows Cassian Andor as he joins the ranks of a burgeoning rebellion against the evil tyrannical Galactic Empire.
That man is really tricky. In the beginning, you’re like, “Oh God, secret identity. How are we going to do it? It’s going to be cheesy. What do they do?” Stellan’s character has two personas. He owns a gallery in Coruscant, and he’s an aesthete. He’s a courtier in a way, and then he’s natural Luthen out in the world.
