When the pioneering cosmetic dermatologist took his own life at his Miami home in April 2015, it sent shockwaves through the beauty industry and left it with a lot of questions—questions that have largely gone unanswered, or at least unaddressed, until now.
The idea for "The Baron of Botox" was originally sparked a week after Dr. Brandt's death, when Harman was grabbing a drink with friend and then-colleague Holly Milea, writer and beauty columnist formagazine. "I'd always heard of who [Dr. Brandt] was, and obviously heard the news of his passing, but Holly was so genuinely bereft by his passing—and she didn't really even know him that well," explains Harman.
Last March, Harman began putting out feelers to sources, and one of the first guests she connected with was Wells, who helped guide her towards those that were closest to Dr. Brandt. "I was able to connect with a group of people who hadn't really had the opportunity to remember their friend publicly," explains Harman. The series starts with the big-picture context: Who Dr.
