Zoro’s confusing question in One Piece explained.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Netflix's One Piece is an incredibly faithful adaptation of the original anime, yet one line from Roronoa Zoro creates a somewhat confusing plot hole. Roronoa Zoro is the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates who was recruited by Luffy in One Piece's first episode. In One Piece episode 2, Zoro, Luffy, and Nami are captured by the leader of the Buggy Pirates, led by the crew's namesake, Buggy the Clown Pirate.
Zoro Should Have Heard Of Shanks In One Piece The pirate in question is Shanks, someone Luffy idolized growing up. Luffy mentions that Shanks once stated that not every situation can be handled with violence, prompting Zoro to ask "Who the hell is Shanks?" This is where the plot hole is found, given Zoro's fame as a professional pirate hunter.
