The White House repeatedly declined on Monday to clarify comments President Joe Biden made regarding a new deal on Ukraine aid with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).
Biden delivered remarks from the White House on Sunday following the passage of a continuing resolution keeping the government open for 45 days. That legislation included new funding to refill the Federal Emergency Management Agency's disaster relief fund but no additional aid for Ukraine, as requested by the president.
However, when pressed on Biden's remarks during Monday's press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly declined to say if Biden's remarks were"true."
