The second GOP debate is Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley.

The 2024 Republican presidential nominee will be selected by delegates to the Republican National Convention, which will take place in Milwaukee from July 15-18. The Democratic National Convention is Aug. 19-22, 2024, in Chicago.

In 2024, there are an estimated 2,467 delegates: 2,363 pledged delegates and 104 unpledged delegates. To win the nomination, a presidential candidate must receive support from a majority of delegates — an estimated 1,234.There are three primary methods used to allocate Republican delegates, which means to bind them to vote for a certain candidate on at least the first ballot at the national convention.
