A winter storm has begun in North Texas with freezing temperatures, scattered freezing rain, sleet and thunder, the National Weather Service said.What’s the forecast?The high today is expected to be around 30 degrees and the low tonight will be 26, KXAS-TV reported. Freezing drizzle is expected Wednesday.
NBC5 meteorologist Samantha Davies said there will be breaks in the precipitation through the afternoon. The worst of the weather is still ahead, Davies said. That will be overnight Wednesday into Thursday, she tweeted, and “another batch of widespread freezing rain is likely tonight.” Scattered freezing rain showers with sleet and thunder are moving through parts of N TX. Some light icing will be possible on bridges as this moves north through the early morning. Drive with extreme caution!!
