I agree. It’s not the just lack of defense, it’s the ridiculous shots on offense. Like you, I watched a few minutes and said, “This is awful, and it gets worse every year.” I saw some of the “highlights,” and it was dreadful. Maybe they should just have a big party and a bunch of shooting contests. Or something.: “It’s an honor to be here. It’s an honor to be a part of a great weekend. Great players. But that is the worst basketball game ever played.
This leads to long 3-pointers, off-balanced shots, etc., and yes ... turnovers. The idea is let your star win or lose the game. But at times, it seems like lazy coaching. Not just the Cavs, but all over the NBA. Find ways to create movement for better shots.
