A woman in Florida said she was sound asleep when a possible tornado ripped the roof from her house and sent a piece of wood straight into her bedroom celling.
A woman in Palm Coast, Florida, said she was sound asleep on Thursday when a possible tornado ripped the roof from her house and sent a piece of wood straight into her bedroom celling. 'It was unbelievable, like something out of the movies,' Tanya Mitchell said. 'What are the odds of one four-by-four coming through the roof and right towards the top of the bed?'The wood came from across the street after strong, potentially tornadic, winds came blowing through the area.
Much of the roof's trusses, the foundation, came blowing from the home, landing into yards and other houses across the neighborhood. People in the area said they began going into their shelters or garages around 5 a.m. Later Thursday morning, others came outside their home to survey damage or fix their roofs. Officials said no one was killed or hurt as a result of the storm.
