The ongoing standoff that started on May 2 has now exceeded the 93-day duration of the 2007 strike and there’s potential that it could further extend to surpass the previous record of 154 days set in 1988. SAG-AFRTRA initiated a twin strike alongside WGA on July 14, due to the ongoing labor dispute with the AMPTP. Notably, this marks the first instance since 1960 where actors and writers have jointly participated in a walkout.
