Fish and chips in Wetherspoons currently costs £10.82 but could rise to £27.90 in 27 years time
Experts have predicted that the cost of a meal at Wetherspoons could continue to sky-rocket over the next few years - with one offer in particular potentially fetching back close to £45 in Manchester.
Wetherspoons recently reported it had turned over its first annual profits since 2020 as it saw total sales rise by 10.6% to £1.92 billion for the year to July 30. The new research from Saxo has - purely for speculative purposes - found that the cost of a cheeseburger at Wetherspoons in Manchester could cost £17.12 in 2050. At its most expensive venue in London, the cost could increase to £19.40. Wetherspoons currently sell fish and chips for £10.82 in Manchester, which could rise to £26.50 in 2050. Heading to Edinburgh or Oxford in 27 years time for the same dish could, potentially, cost you £27.90.
