Wet Leg has had an incredible Brits scooping up two awards, but they couldn't leave the stage without at least one cheeky political dig 👀
, taking home two awards – and they also provided us with one of the most iconic moments.
The rock band who, amazingly, were only formed in 2019, have enjoyed an incredible year following the release of their self-titled debut album, resulting in them bagging both group of the year and best new artist. Taking to the stage to give their acceptance speech, the group – comprising of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers – were overcome with emotion, expressing their gratitude.ITV attempted to censor the expletive, but viewers at home most definitely caught it, as the speech ended with: ‘F**k the Tories’.
Speaking after their best group win, Hester Chambers said it was ‘crazy’ to have bagged the trophy in the same category with the likes of The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys. One of their backing band added: ‘I promised Rhian I would say this: they build small ships and they build big ships but they don’t build friendships!‘This is really cool, thanks very much. I don’t know what else to say.’More:
