Wednesday season 2 is teased by star Jenna Ortega, who says the upcoming episodes will feature more horror and less romance. Ortega sparked a conversation when she revealed that she changed some of Wednesday Addams's dialogue while filming because she didn't feel that her character would say certain things. It's part of Ortega's ongoing candidness about the popular Netflix series, as she has been open about her criticisms regarding the show's focus on love triangles.

She also said that the second installment would ditch romantic love interests, in reference to the love triangle story that included Tyler Galpin and Xavier Thorpe .
“We’ve decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. Because it is so lighthearted, and a show like this with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, you don’t want to take yourself too seriously. We’re ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great.”
Ortega's Confirmation Is Great For Wednesday Season 2 Netflix's Addams Family update had a bigger budget, stellar supporting actors in the likes of Christina Ricci, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Gwendoline Christie, and the involvement of Tim Burton. Even though Wednesday is one of Netflix's most popular shows of all time, the reviews and even general reactions were more muted, describing Netflix's attempt as comparable to a CW show.
From a story standpoint, Wednesday's focus on romance and dueling teenage boys made it akin to most teen dramas but wasn't even a strong example of a gripping love triangle. The show earned its praises because of a career-changing performance from Ortega, which Wednesday season 2 can rely on while also steering right into the horror credentials that the young actor cultivated with her performance in Scream and X.
