How does Dagan Gera's backstory as seen in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor fit in with what we know of The High Republic Era and its various threats?
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor introduced Dagan Gera, a Jedi from the High Republic Era – and his story in the game is affected by many of the events from that historical part of the Star Wars timeline. The High Republic is a Star Wars transmedia initiative detailing the history of the Jedi Order and the wider galaxy around 200 years before Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace takes place. At this time, the Republic is spreading its influence to lesser-known worlds, with the Jedi in tow.
When, exactly, is hard to say – there is no strict timeline for the Emergences, and there has been no confirmation of when the last one took place, even in the most recent official Star Wars timeline. The Emergences could have lasted for weeks, perhaps even months, or maybe even a year after the initial disaster, given the volatile nature of hyperspace travel.
The Nameless, perhaps more so than the Nihil, would be enough to spur Dagan Gera into action and pursue his haven on Tanalorr. Dagan’s ruthlessness and terror at getting Tanalorr up and running could indicate that he knew someone who had been taken by the Nameless – a creature that feasts on a Jedi’s connection to the Force is not something to be trifled with.
