Rishi Sunak and Liz Truss are due to go head-to-head in another TV debate on Thursday. Kay Burley will moderate the contest between the two prospective Prime Ministers at 8pm on Sky News. We are running a survey asking people who should be the next PM:
Boris Johnson gave his last speech in Parliament last month and we now have the two candidates going head-to-head to replace him.
Members of the Conservative Party – those who sign up by paying up to £25 a year – are now asked to vote for their preferred candidate to lead the party and become the next PM. The current size of the membership is unknown, but insiders expect it to have grown from the around 160,000 individuals it stood at during the 2019 leadership election – PA reports.
Liz Truss and Sunak have been taking part in televised debates. They have also taken to the road to participate in 12 hustings organised by the party across the UK.
