Wayfair Reportedly Sold Furniture to a Migrant Detention Center

This afternoon, hundreds of Wayfair employees and supporters joined the WayfairWalkout in response:

Employees at a location in Boston, Massachusetts, planned their action, an employee told CNN, after they learned that a $200,000 order had been made by BCFS, a nonprofit that operates Department of Health and Human Services facilities for migrants.

CNN reported that Wayfair’s leaders responded to the letter, writing, "As a retailer, it is standard practice to fulfill orders for all customers and we believe it is our business to sell to any customer who is acting within the laws of the countries within which we operate." The letter continued, "This does not indicate support for the opinions or actions of the groups or individuals who purchase from us.
