Watch: SNL's 'Weekend Update' asks how President Trump could possible know Putin was smiling during their phone call
During the May 4 episode of Saturday Night Live, Weekend Update host Colin Jost roasted President Donald Trump over a bizarre description the president gave of his recent phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin—the first such call between the two leaders following the release of the Mueller report.
The comedian then asked to replay the clip in which Trump bizarrely describes Putin smiling through the phone. “The investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and the campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts,” the report stated.
