The Commonwealth is welcoming a new governor on Thursday — Gov.-elect Maura Healey is set to be inaugurated in what will be a historic event.
As his eight years as Massachusetts governor come to a close, Charlie Baker stopped for handshakes and pictures with well-wishers during the traditional "Lone Walk" from the State House. Immediately following the oath of office, both Healey and Driscoll will give their inaugural addresses. "I think she'll be terrific. I think it's exciting for, not just Massachusetts but for the entire country, to be embracing the future," Kerry said ahead of the ceremony.
