Don't get caught out by this tax trap
The HICBC sees parents earning more than £50,000 a year having to repay some, or all, of their Child Benefit in tax.
But, this isn’t always the case, and it could cause an issue if the claimant’s adjusted net income later exceeds the £50,000 threshold, even if the payments are paid into their former partner’s account and that person is not earning £50,000.
