Listen to “Dockyard,” a key track from the film soundtrack of WarSailor written by Oscar-nominated composer Volker Bertelmann. The full album will be out December 16 from LakeshoreRecs:
War Sailor, the newest film by Norwegian writer and director Gunnar Vikene, is an emotional epic that shines a light on the human cost suffered by Norwegians during World War II. Based on true events, War Sailor tells the stories of sailors conscripted into service during the war, as well as the stories of their families.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The score for War Sailor was composed by Volker Bertelmann, an Oscar-nominated pianist and composer from Germany. Bertelmann, who often records and performs under the moniker Hauschka, is known for his experimental bent and innovative, nontraditional use of the piano. Bertelmann was previously nominated for an Academy Award for Best Music for his work on the 2016 film Lion, which he did in collaboration with Dustin O'Halloran.
