Byrd was a consistent threat to score in Pittsburg’s two games last week. Against Castro Valley, Byrd found the scoresheet three times, and versus Tracy, the senior bagged seven goals and dished out one assist.The senior standout had seven of the team’s 24 kills in their win over Oak Grove last week. She also had eight aces and four digs in a stellar all-around effort.Frangieh was the high scorer on a young Los Gatos team that only played two seniors in wins against Stevenson and Menlo School.
Freitas had great performances against Northgate and Miramonte as Berean’s Christian’s libero. Against Northgate on Tuesday, she had 36 digs, four assists and 23 receptions. In her next game, Freitas had 28 digs and 10 receptions.The Knights sophomore hitter/setter dominated at Spikefest, and totaled 12 aces, 67 assists and 13 kills over 11 sets.The Longhorn sophomore was one of the standout performers in Leigh’s 20-3 win over Homestead.
