Julia Blyashov has excelled at every level, heading to Stanford after high school career ends
From travel ball, to Cathedral Catholic High, to international competition, where she was part of the USA U19 National Team that took home gold in the Pan Am Cup in July, beating Brazil in Oklahoma, Julia Blyashov has played at every level.
Cathedral Catholic finished 36-5 last season, losing the Southern California Regionals finals to eventual state champion Los Angeles Marymount, winning the first set 25-19 before the Sailors easily captured the final three sets 25-14, 25-17, 25-11.In last weekend’s Durango Tournament in Las Vegas, the Dons swept all six matches, including a 25-20, 25-17 win over Los Angeles Marymount in the championship.
Despite the up-and-down volleyball seasons, Blyashov took care of her college plans, landing a scholarship at Stanford, her dream school. Blysahov’s magical junior year was capped off last spring when the Dons’ captured the first San Diego Section championship in beach volleyball.
