roaming Manhattan attacking sleeping homeless people, killing one of them, was caught on video before the slaying casually riding a Citi Bike around the block while wearing an “Innocence Project” shirt, cops said Tuesday.
“Video of that incident is not on camera, but we observe a male black approximately 30 years old in a black hooded-sweatshirt with ‘Innocence Project’ written across it, black pants and a gray backpack with bright neon sneakers,” Esssig said at a press conference at One Police Plaza on the stabbings.
The next stabbing happened around 10 p.m. July 8 at Madison Avenue and East 49th Street in the Diamond District, police said. The attack wasn’t reported until July 10, Essig said. In that incident, the stabber was caught on video sitting on a bench for 30 minutes while the victim slept. The third incident happened at 3:30 a.m. Monday at 9595 FDR Drive, which is the Stanley Isaac Playground.
