After searching the car, the police changed their story from suspecting drugs and weapons to claiming Dos Santos was driving on the wrong side of the road and was speeding. He did not commit either offence and no action was taken.
However, in the latest footage, a police officer can be seen peering into his Tesla car as it passes before attempting to pull him over. Dos Santos continued a short distance believing it was not safe to stop on the Westway. When he stopped, he saw there were four police cars and nine officers surrounding him. The Met said in a statement: “We are aware of footage on social media showing part of a stop on a car. At about 04.00 hours on Sunday, 14 August, armed officers were on routine patrol in a marked police vehicle.
